Stephanie’s new play TAILS OF WASPS recently premiered with New Century Theatre Company.  She just received an Elizabeth George Commission from Tony-Award winning South Coast Repertory Theatre.  She recently adapted THE RAMAYANA for ACT Theatre’s 2012 mainstage season, with playwright Yussef el Guindi. Her play SWEET NOTHING: A GRIM (FAIRY)TALE, produced by Macha Monkey, was nominated for a Gregory Award in 2012 for Best New Play. It was previously developed at Lark New Play Development Center and Kennedy Center. Her play ON THE NATURE OF DUST, produced by New Century Theatre Company, developed by Portland Center Stage and Icicle Creek/ACT, was nominated for Best New Play Gregory Award in 2010. Stephanie was playwright in residence at ACT Theatre 2010-2011 where she wrote her commissioned play RATS IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN. Stephanie is an alumna of the Seattle Repertory Theatre’s invited Writers’ Group,company playwright and affiliate artist with New Century Theatre Company, and also a member of ACT’s Affiliate Artist Working Group. Stephanie wrote the book for 5th Avenue Theatre’s ROSIE THE RIVETER! Her play CRUMBS ARE ALSO BREAD was just published in Rain City’s Manifesto Series, edited by Steven Dietz. She wrote the script for FRANKENOCCHIO: THE ADVENTURES OF A DIVINE BOY TOY, created by puppeteer Brian Kooser. Her plays have also been produced and developed at Theatre B, Washington Ensemble Theatre, Elements Theatre Collective, Barnyard Theatre, Looking Glass Theatre, Live Girls Theatre, and Boots Up Theatre Company, among others. She is the recipient of an Artist Trust GAP Grant, and three time finalist for the Heideman Award at the Actors Theatre of Louisville. She currently teaches playwriting at Cornish College of the Arts and ACT Theatre.
