João Pedro Vala was born in 1990, in Lisbon. Graduated in Management but, in 2011, he ended up swapping numbers for letters. In 2021, he completed a doctoral thesis on Marcel Proust, in which he studied the way in which time, homosexuality, Judaism and sadomasochism seem to represent Proust’s vision of literature. He is a literary critic, editor, and translator. He is the author of two novels: Grande Turismo (2022) and Campo Pequeno (2024).
