Bruna Dantas Lobato

Bruna Dantas Lobato is a writer and literary translator based in St. Louis. Her fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, A Public Space, The Common, and other publications, and it has been recognized with fellowships from Yaddo, Jentel, A Public Space, NYU, the Outpost Foundation, and DISQUIET, where she was a Luso-American Fellow in 2018. Her literary translations include Caio Fernando Abreu’s Moldy Strawberries, Stênio Gardel’s The Words That Remain, and Jeferson Tenório’s The Dark Side of Skin, among others. Her translation of The Words That Remain was selected for the National Book Award for Translation in 2023. Her debut novel, Blue Light Hours, will be published by Grove Press in October 2024.
